You might remember a while back a story of mine called ‘Imaginary Murder’ appeared in a Sci-Fi Lampoon anthology called The Fuckening. I’m pleased to say Margaret Treiber and the team have accepted another piece of mine, ‘A Snail Tale’, which will appear in an upcoming edition of the regular magazine.

I seldom write flash fiction, but that’s what ‘A Snail Tale’ is. I wrote it on a whim, longhand, to amuse my children during a dull night out. When I say ‘longhand’, I mean in the little owl notepad my son brought along. If I recall, it was his request that I write a story about a snail.

I didn’t expect to finish it, but as my daughter read out each new section I sort of fell in love with the story. I hope you do, too… all 391 words of it.
