The fine folks over at The Vanishing Point have selected my skin-crawling sci-fi/horror tale ‘Bloodborne’ to appear in its best-of anthology, The Vanishing Point: Convergence.

The anthology compiles 16 tales of speculative fiction from the magazine’s 2021-2023 period. It’s available in paperback and e-book – maybe even in time for Christmas!

Here’s a little sample of my contribution:

He yanked at his shirt, buttons popping off in all directions, and peeled it away (so damp with blood and blister fluid it felt like peach skin). Half a dozen black organisms tumbled out of the cloth, skittering through the dirt at his feet. Almost crying with revulsion he tried to stomp them, but his boot only impressed them into the soft earth. Once he lifted his foot they stood up on their tiny legs and continued to scuttle. While Jim performed this impotent death dance something squirmed out through the flesh on his back. Then the unmistakable sensation of pen-nib feet skittering up the back of his neck. Jim cried out and slapped it away, his throat aching with terror.
